Concerns around affordability are front of mind for everyone – governments, communities, and industries alike. The need for solar and storage projects are a proven solution to lower costs and bring community benefits and the need for them on the grid is at an all-time high. To ensure those benefits are having the intended impact, developers must meaningfully engage communities and balance competing stakeholder interests when navigating the complex siting and permitting landscape.
To discuss these related challenges and solutions, The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Solar and Storage Industries Institute (SI2) are co-hosting an invite-only community engagement roundtable at RE+ Northeast. During this roundtable discussion, join state and local government officials and their staff, nonprofits, advocates, and the industry as they discuss challenges in the energy landscape around affordability, siting & permitting, community benefits, and community engagement. This intimate roundtable is closed door so that all participants can ask and answer tough questions around these complicated topics. Participants will leave with strategies and tactics to siting and community engagement that lead to better long-term outcomes for all stakeholders, recourses for assessing community benefits, and the relevant research to drive understanding and decision making around navigating the interconnected challenges around the deployment of clean energy projects.
