Description
U.S. investments in electric vehicles (EVs) have surged to 8 billion, while charging infrastructure has received only a fraction of that—around .5 billion—and has been plagued by reliability issues and non-functioning chargers. For example, despite California leading the nation in EV adoption it has faced significant challenges in both expanding and maintaining its charging network. With just one public charging port for every 29 EVs, reliability and availability remain critical concerns. There is also a growing need for a skilled workforce to support the electric vehicle (EV) industry. The Institute for the Motor Industry estimates a shortage of 25,100 EV-trained TechSafe technicians by 2030.
