Travis Stewart, Vice President, has over 12 years of experience in energy, utility, and policy–related issues. He provides assistance with thermal and renewable generation, load positions, energy storage resources, and to transmission developers on RTO operations, procedures, and markets. He has worked extensively with RTOs across the country—including MISO, SPP, PJM, NYISO, and ISO-NE—and serves as the firm’s lead representative in MISO and SPP, where he actively participates in committees and working groups on capacity markets, demand response, storage, ancillary services, and reliability. He also maintains a strong presence at PJM and regularly engages with MISO staff as the Independent Power Producer Sector Representative on the Advisory Committee, while also serving as Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
Mr. Stewart has supported numerous high-level filings and regulatory proceedings before FERC and RTOs on grid reliability, market reforms, resilience pricing, and compliance matters. His expertise spans market analysis, risk assessment, and regulatory policy, enabling clients to navigate challenges in energy and capacity markets. Prior to joining Gabel Associates, he worked in the Office of Chief Counsel at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, advising senior leadership and the Governor’s Office on ratemaking, solar markets, tax treatment of utilities, and regulatory security issues. This combined experience gives him a deep understanding of both state and federal regulatory landscapes, which he leverages to advance client objectives in the wholesale power sector.
