Every decommissioned solar module is a deposit of silver, silicon, and other metals. By 2050, up to 78 million tonnes of modules will reach end of life worldwide. The question is no longer whether to recycle, but who captures the value. Drawing on SOLAR METALS' industrial scale operations in Europe, we show how recycling moves from cost to profit center.
