Heather Bolick

Chief Sustainability & Resilience Officer

City of Charlotte
Heather Bolick is the Chief Sustainability & Resiliency Officer at the City of Charlotte. She leads a cross-organizational team tasked with the strategic plan to help the city reach the goal to be a zero carbon city by 2050. Recent highlights include negotiating a green tariff for an 80-MW solar energy project, which is anticipated to offset 100% of carbon emissions from electricity used by city-owned buildings. She led the revision of the Sustainable Facilities Policy which works to make sustainability a priority in the design, construction, and renovation of City-owned facilities.

Heather’s experience includes energy management of institutional buildings, residential energy auditing, supervising a workforce development program in the energy sector and managing a neighborhood energy grant. She has a Bachelor of Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in Environmental Systems Analysis from UNC-Charlotte. Heather has held the following certifications: Professional Energy Manager, BPI Building Analyst & Envelope Professional and LEED AP.

Sustain Our Future Foundation (SOFF)
Yinka N. Bode-George is the Founder, President, and CEO of Sustain Our Future Foundation (SOFF), a national nonprofit organization that designs and implements community benefit strategies within large-scale renewable energy and sustainability infrastructure projects. Her work is situated inside corporate transactions, renewable procurement, and other infrastructure projects to translate climate and sustainability commitments into place-based capital, community-led grantmaking, and durable local impact.

SOFF operates as a trusted intermediary between corporations, developers, and communities, shaping models and structuring financial mechanisms that create responsible development, shared value, and long-term community climate resilience. SOFF's work spans community co-developed grant programs, corporate consulting for climate and community impact, and collaborative project implementation across the U.S. At SOFF, Yinka cultivates strategic partnerships, spearheads impactful initiatives, and drives the company's visionary goals forward.
