Despite the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) and the phase-out of key tax credits, industry experts remain optimistic that most planned solar and storage projects will still move forward in Texas. With Texas’ history as an energy leader- first with oil and gas and now with wind, solar and storage- it has proven it can adapt and thrive through various market shifts. As the changes from the OBBB begin to impact the market, how is Texas navigating this new landscape? How can the solar and storage industry learn from other energy systems that have weathered change before? Join this session to hear from industry leaders about how Texas' unique energy mix, regulatory environment, and infrastructure will carry solar and storage through this new era of energy.

3:00 PM - 3:50 PM

Texas is rapidly becoming a global epicenter for data-center expansion, driven by AI, cloud services, and large scale computing campuses. Electricity demand is projected to grow by double-digits annually, with industrial large loads such as data centers expected to make up a significant portion of new demand. This shift presents both a tremendous opportunity and challenges such as environmental impact and potential increase in electricity costs. This session will explore how Texas' diverse energy mix the evolving power needs of AI. Attendees will hear how the state can maintain its leadership in energy development while ensuring the grid reliability required to support a fast-growing data center ecosystem.

As solar and storage policy take center stage at both the state and federal levels, building durable, bipartisan support is essential for continued industry growth. Join SEIA's Senior Director of Congressional Affairs in conversation with Chairman Kevin Brady, former US Representative for Texas' 8th District, as they discuss the congressional outlook for solar and storage policy in 2026, highlighting areas of alighment alongside policy challenges that still exist. The discussion will also explore how solar and storage support economic growth, US energy leadership, and how effective messaging can build broader political support.

In 2025, Texas passed groundbreaking legislation aimed at eliminating unethical sales tactics and rebuilding homeowner trust in the solar industry. These new laws set clear standards of ethical sales conduct, strengthen contract transparency, and introduce enforcement mechanisms to protect consumers. Join this session to hear the latest updates on consumer protection in Texas. Panelists will discuss details of the new legislation, explore how it is reshaping sales practices across the state, and discuss what it means for solar companies, consumers, and the industry’s long-term reputation.

9:30 AM - 10:25 AM

Texas has been a leader US leader in the addition of solar, storage, and wind to the grid. It's more important than ever to ensure that reliability and cybersecurity are at the heart of growth of renewable energy in Texas. In this session, we will review how ERCOT is developing strategies, technologies, and other solutions to accommodate higher quantities of solar and storage. We will also dive into emerging cybersecurity threats to the electric sector, what ERCOT is doing to protect against cyberattacks, policy and regulatory developments in Texas, and cybersecurity best practices as solar and storage continue to grow in the state.
